Enchanting Danish Fort Of Tharangambadi

Tharangambadi is located on the eastern coast of India. This place was once the dwelling of Danish colony. Tharangambadi also known as Tranquebar is famous for Danish castle, which belongs to the 17th century. The buildings are residential locality and headquarters for the governor.
Tharangambadi was once well-known trading centre during ancient times. The Danish fort was built in 1620 AD by a royal navy commander “Ove Gedde”. Danish King sold this fort to British East India Company
